Mandate
Membership The Commission for Petitions, Human Rights and Equal Opportunities comprises eleven members (elected deputies). Pursuant to the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly, the offices of the chairperson and deputy chairperson of a given working body are, as a rule, held by deputies of different deputy groups. If the chairperson of a working body belongs to one of the deputy groups of the governing coalition, the office of the deputy chairperson generally will be held by a member of an opposition deputy group, and vice versa. In determining the number of members of an individual deputy group in each working body, the Council of the President of the National Assembly takes into account the size (number of members) of an individual deputy group; in allocating the seats in individual working bodies, it takes into consideration the ratio between the deputies of the governing coalition and the deputies of the opposition. Usually, each deputy group is guaranteed at least one seat in every working body. In allocating the leading positions in working bodies, account is taken of the size of the deputy group, as well as of the allocation of other positions in the National Assembly and of the membership of deputies in delegations to international parliamentary institutions, international organizations and international bodies.A deputy group nominates its members to an individual working body according to the number of seats it is entitled to on such a working body, and informs the President of the National Assembly thereof. Composition by sex: 5 men (45.5%), 6 women (54.5%)
